What the Critics Say

The audacious Audi ripped down the quarter-mile in just 11.8 seconds at 115 mph. These results show that the RS5 can hang with the more powerful 505-hp Alfa Romeo Giulia QF. They also reveal the benefit of all-wheel-drive traction, which helped the Audi's takeoffs compared with those of the rear-drive Alfa. - Car and Driver

"The RS 5 is the most sure-footed among its competition too, coming standard with Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system. So you can use more of its prodigious performance more of the time, and that usability and ease that comes with it are a huge part of its appeal." - Edmunds

What's New for 2023

The biggest update to the Audi RS 5 Coupe & Sportback comes in the form of a newly available Competition package available for both models. Choosing the Competition package adds a number of exhilarating performance-related components and design cues. Although horsepower and torque remain the same, these models feature a higher top speed of up to 180 MPH. In addition, drivers will appreciate the exclusive RS Sport exhaust system along with the removal of nearly 18 pounds of sound insulation for an evocative listening experience. Sport direct steering, an adjustable coilover suspension, and 20-inch wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires further enhance handling characteristics. Matte carbon interior trim and exclusive RS design cues are found throughout the interior of RS 5 Competition package models as well.

Audi RS 5 Sportback Performance

Powertrain and Performance

Providing power, efficiency, and the iconic RS sound -- a standard 2.9 liter TFSI V6 biturbo engine delivers an outstanding 444 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. You'll rocket the RS 5 from 0 to 60 in under 4 seconds on your way to a top track speed of 155 MPH, or increased to 174 MPH with the available performance package. Opt for the available Competition package for an astounding top speed increase to 180 MPH along with an exclusive RS Sport exhaust system, Sport direct steering, and an adjustable coilover suspension. A sophisticated eight-speed Tiptronic® automatic transmission delivers optimized shifting times while a standard quattro permanent four-wheel drive gives you unparalleled response thanks to a self-locking center differential. With the standard RS sport suspension, RS 5 rides 7mm lower than the prior generation. You can also choose between comfort, auto, dynamic, and individual drive mode settings in the standard Audi drive select system.
